Talk on Spirituality
The Department of English and Education organized an insightful Talk on Spirituality on 29/08/2023 with the aim of fostering inner well-being and holistic development among students and faculty. The session was graced by the distinguished speakers from the Brahma Kumaris, a worldwide spiritual movement known for its teachings on meditation, self-realization, and values-based living. The speaker addressed the importance of spiritual awareness in today's fast-paced and stressful world, emphasizing the role of inner peace, positive thinking, and self-discipline in leading a balanced life. The talk also included guided meditation and interactive discussions, which were well-received by the audience. Participants found the session deeply enriching, as it offered practical insights into managing stress, building emotional resilience, and connecting with one’s higher self. Through this initiative, the Departments aimed to promote mental and emotional well-being, aligning with the broader goals of value-based education and personal growth.



Workshop on ICT Tools
The Department of English organized a Workshop on ICT Tools on 25/04/2023 aimed at enhancing digital literacy among students and faculty. The session focused on introducing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools that can improve teaching, learning, and academic productivity. The resource person, Nabajyoti Medhi, provided hands-on training on a variety of tools such as Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, QR code creation tools. Participants were also guided on how to integrate these technologies into classroom activities, project work, and collaborative learning. The workshop encouraged active participation and provided practical exposure to digital tools that are essential in today’s educational environment. It also emphasized the importance of staying updated with technological advancements to ensure effective communication and innovative teaching practices.



Distribution of Dustbins at Dhareswar Devalaya
As part of its commitment to environmental awareness and community service, the Department of English organized a Dustbin Distribution Drive at Dhareswar Devalaya on 13/03/2023. The initiative aimed to promote cleanliness and responsible waste management in and around the temple premises. During the event, dustbins were distributed and strategically placed to encourage devotees and visitors to maintain a clean and hygienic environment. Faculty members, students, and temple authorities participated in the drive, highlighting the importance of keeping public and religious spaces clean as part of civic responsibility. The program also included a brief awareness session on waste segregation and the harmful effects of littering. The temple committee appreciated the department's effort and extended their support in ensuring the continued use and maintenance of the dustbins.



Field Visit to Farm for Self-Employment
The Department of English organized a field visit to a local farm on 15/05/2023 as part of its initiative to promote self-employment and entrepreneurial thinking among students. The visit aimed to expose students to sustainable agricultural practices and demonstrate farming as a viable and rewarding career option. During the visit, students interacted with the farm owner, who shared valuable insights into organic farming, livestock management, farm-based business models, and the challenges and opportunities in the agricultural sector. The hands-on experience helped students understand the potential of agriculture not only as a means of livelihood but also as a platform for innovation and self-reliance. The field trip inspired students to consider alternative career paths beyond conventional employment, reinforcing the message that self-employment—particularly in sectors like farming—can be both economically and personally fulfilling.
